Win a BMW X1 Weekend Drive...

... but only if you are an UK resident. Prior to the official launch of the BMW X1, the German carmaker has taken its marketing efforts further, by offering UK residents an opportunity to win a drive with the new SUV.

By registering to enter the prize drawings, entrants may also receive a voucher for two tickets to the British Music Experience at the The O2, bmwblog.com reported.

Moreover, three BMW X1 vehicles will be making a tour of UK cities in October, namely in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and York on 10-11 October and in Birmingham, Cheltenham, Bristol, Bath on 17-18 October.

In addition, the X1 caravan will be sending out messages by Bluetooth and with every stop, people will be able to play on Wiis installed in their storage areas.

The new BMW X1 will be available at the following locations in UK:
  • The O2, London – 24-30 September 2009
  • Xscape, Milton Keynes – 10-11 October 2009
  • Xscape, Castleford – 17-18 October 2009
  • Metro Snow, Olympia – 21-25 October 2009

The BMW X1 comes with a choice of both four and six cylinder engines, powered by both petrol and diesel fuel. The smallest engine on the X1 is a 2.0l four cylinder, boasting 170 horsepower for the petrol version and 177 hp for the diesel one.

The 3.0l six cylinder power plant develops either 265 horsepower (gasoline) or 245 horsepower (diesel). Even if a hybrid version for the X1 is unlikely to see production, due to the costs it involves, the new X1 could make use of a four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
