The folks at Lethal Performance took delivery of their 2024 Ford Mustang GT in September 2023. With nothing more than UPR catch cans and a Corsa HH-pipe, it made 396 horsepower and 369 pound-feet (500 Nm) of torque at the wheels.
The Ford Motor Company advertises the fourth-gen Coyote of the 2024 model year Mustang GT with at least 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet (563 Nm) at the crankshaft. Lethal Performance then upgraded their blue pony with a Whipple supercharger, which costs in the ballpark of ten grand on its own.
Care to guess how much it made with said blower? That would be 763 horsepower and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of twist. Lethal Performance then cracked the 800-horsepower mark by deleting the factory 7,100-rpm limiter, recording 807 horsepower and 635 pound-feet (861 Nm).
These numbers wouldn't have been possible without a 3.75-inch pulley from GripTec. Switching to a 3.625 resulted in 833 horsepower and a tremendous 661 pound-feet (896 Nm). Pretty impressive for a manual 2024 Mustang GT, more so if you remember that we're dealing with rear wheel numbers rather than crank output figures.
It should be noted that Lethal Performance's car used 93 octane and 16 ounces of VP Octanium for that dyno pull, with Octanium being an octane-boosting additive that increases octane by up to 8 numbers/80 points. VP Octanium and the supercharger tell only half the story, though…
The build sheet further comprises a 112-millimeter throttle body for the blower and Kooks long-tube headers. Considering the aforementioned torque, it should come as no surprise that Lethal Performance upgraded their pony-turned-muscle car with a McLeod Racing RXT clutch, a QA1 carbon driveshaft, and GForce Outlaw axles. In preparation for the drag strip, it also received a Stop the Hop suspension kit from Steeda, lowering springs, and an MGW shifter for good measure.
A seriously tasteful build, this Mustang GT should be seriously quick in the quarter. The previous-gen Shelby GT500 is good for 10.6 seconds fully stock, with the S550-generation Shelby GT500 flaunting 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet (847 Nm). Ford has worked its magic on the Predator engine for the limited-run Mustang GTD. Benchmarked against the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD targets over 800 force-fed horsepower.
The second coming of the Predator can take more than 7,500 revolutions per minute, and in stark contrast to the Mustang GT, the Mustang GTD features a dual-clutch transaxle. The trunk, or lack thereof, also helps the GTD stand out from its lesser sibling. The inboard-mounted multilink rear suspension uses all of the available trunk space.
Going forward, the S650 Mustang Shelby GT500 will be introduced sometime during 2025 for the 2026 model year with 800-odd horses as well. There's even hearsay of a Raptorized version à la the 911 Dakar and Huracan Sterrato, but only time will tell if that rumor actually holds water.
