What the Forza Horizon 5 Community Asked for, Got in Spades

Forza Motorsport might have scored an 84 on Metacritic and got two GOTY awards for "Innovation in Accessibility" and "Best Sports/Racing Game," but that wasn't enough to please fans. On Steam, Motorsport has a "Mostly Negative" score of only 38%, which is catastrophic for such a highly expected racing title. Forza amassed quite a following over the years, and no one could have predicted the game would be such a letdown compared to its arcade sibling, Forza Horizon.
Setting Motorsport's brief history aside, let's focus on the future of Forza Horizon 5. Developer Turn 10 listened to what the community wanted, and it looks like the studio checked all the right boxes.

They've even reintroduced some fan-favorite features in the Festival Playlist, like activities and rewards. Sixteen Evolving World PR Stunts are coming back. Also, the Evolving World Neon Decorations in Open World and Races make a return, along with the Neon Drone Show and Neon H cube collectible.

The most exciting part is that 10 previous exclusive reward cars have been added to the Autoshow, all requested by players. Or better said, by connoisseurs, by the looks of it, because no item on the list is anything to shy away from.

People wanted the 1990 Porsche 911, 2010 Aston Martin One-77, 2021 Lamborghini Sian Roadster, 2021 Rimac Nevera, 2010 Ferrari 599XX, 1971 Porsche #23 917/20, 1962 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso 1990, 1967 Ferrari #24 Ferrari Spa 330 P4, 2018 Italdesign Zerouno, and 1965 Peel Trident.

There is a catch, though. The roster will only get updated starting with January 30, but in the meantime, more are on their way.

On January 4, the devs introduced the 2011 McLaren 12C Coupé and the 2008 Aston Martin DBS. On the 11th, you'll find the 2006 Koeniggsegg CCX and 2016 W Motors Lykhan Hypersport. On January 18, you can look forward to the 1967 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL and 2012 Pagani Huayra. Finally, January 25 will bring along the 2016 Spania GTA Spano and 1969 FIAT Dino 2.4 Coupe.

Now, the best thing about today's gaming landscape is that if you subscribe to Xbox or PC Game Pass, you get both Forza Horizon 5 and Motorsport at no additional cost, along with tens of other great titles. If you're subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, then I recommend NFS Unbound, Burnout Paradise, GRID Legends, Snowrunner, hot Wheels Unleashed, Everspace 2, or Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.

In case you've already played all of these and want to try something new that still feels familiar, then maybe check out The Crew Motorfest. It's a knockout open-world arcade racing game from Ubisoft that's as relaxing to play after a hard day's work as it is gorgeous to look at. Especially on a new-gen console or powerful PC.

Codrin just loves American classics, from the 1940s and ‘50s, all the way to the muscle cars of the '60s and '70s. In his perfect world, we'll still see Hudsons and Road Runners roaming the streets for years to come (even in EV form, if that's what it takes to keep the aesthetic alive).
