While Forza Horizon 5 finally has competition within its open-world arcade racing genre, it's not enough for The Crew Motorfest to simply show up to the party while the rest handles itself. At the end of the day, it's a Live Service game, and if developer Ivory Tower doesn't constantly update it with fresh content, it will eventually become stale. Luckily for Ubisoft, January is packing quite the goodies for racing fans.
Motorfest didn't wait too long into the new year and immediately began on January 2 with new content.

Under Pressure is the new Summit Contest that features Time Attack and Out Run Challenges, which aren't easy to pull off. Especially the first one, where you will need to steal every millisecond you can to reach those checkpoints in time, or else you'll restart the race 'till you're blue in the face.

The treacherous "Downhill Live Summit" lasts until January 9. If you go home with the Bronze, you get 150k in-game followers. The Silver Cup awards players with the famous 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Rally, while the Gold gives the Visual Parts Set 2012 Koenigsegg Agera R. Finally, the Platinum prize will snatch you a pair of Neon Yellow Tires.

The Downhill Bundle features a 2016 Frauscher 1414 Demon powerboat and the Koenigsegg Agera R to go with those new Neon Yellow Tires.

The next bundle features two great vehicles, the 2013 Dodge SRT Viper GTS and the 2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition. Then there's an entire bundle dedicated to the 2022 Audi RS 7 Sportback that comes with Pink Edge Tire, Pink Nitro, and Pink Underglow.

Next, we have the Meteor Bundle containing the 2020 Koenigsegg Gemera along with Synthwave Yellow Underglow, Golden Smoke, Pure Gold Tire, and Black Window Tint.

The best part is that the fun doesn't stop here. Aside from the usual weekly Summit drops, we're also getting more Hoonigan-themed events. While I don't particularly appreciate how the S1 Hoonitron feels and handles in Motorfest, I can't wait for more challenges with the 1,400-hp Ford Hoonicorn Mustang.

That thing is so well tuned for drifting that after you get into position, all you need to spin round and round is hold the acceleration button. It's as easy as that.

Also highlighted in the latest trailer are other exceptional models like the BMW Z4, Camaro Z28, 1988 Chevy Camaro ZZ632/1000, Mercedes-AMG SL 63, and, of course, the main star of the show, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1 Long Range Edition.

I'm still playing Motorfest, and after a hard day's work, it's the perfect digital chill pill. The cars feel smooth, the graphics are as superb as they come, and overall, it's one of the best open-world arcade racing games on the market.
