Watching Drivers Race and Crash their Cars on the Nurburgring Is a Good Lesson

When it is not hosting official races, the Nurburgring transforms into an affordable playground for anyone willing to push their car to the limits in a somewhat safe environment.
We mean somewhat safe because The Ring is, of course, safer than public roads when it comes to abusing your car, but this doesn't mean the laws of physics don't apply here. In fact, they do apply and can prove merciless at times.

That's still not enough to stop amateur drivers from taking their cars for a bumpy ride on The Ring, although Green Hell officials have been implementing a more severe set of speed restrictions.

Everything started with the incident when a Nissan GT-R took off during a VLN race earlier this year and crashed in the stands, killing one spectator. That was only the first shake to trigger a tsunami of restrictions, bans and updates to those limitations, which means carmakers can't go for lap records anymore with their new models.

But the bans did nothing to stop average drivers from bringing their cars to dance on the Green Hell, even if some of them don't seem accustomed to the concept of car, driving, not to mention track racing.

Watching the video you'll be able to spot, among other types of drivers, two guys in VW Golf cabriolet driving in heavy rain with the car's top down, an unlucky rider who learns to fall the hard way and gangs of Renault Megane R.S. drivers driving in convoys at full speed.

There's a lot to keep in mind from their driving style so let's chew on their mistakes and learn a thing or two from their racing approach on the track, just in case.
