Ducati has been very good at keeping secrets before the first rumors of the new 2015 Diavel emerged, only days before its official introduction at the Geneva motor show. And I’m saying this because it looks like Ducati has had some outings with the 2015 Diavel on public roads, shooting the video showcase after the jump.
Still, with all the aesthetic upgrades the new Diavel received, seeing it without any previews reminds me of how struck I was when I saw it for the very first time. Now, with some more refinement, and retaining the individual looks which are truly unmistakable, the 2015 Diavel is ready to continue expanding the almost cult-like following it enjoyed since its release.
I’m still half puzzled and half amused seeing the Diavel in its two-up seat configuration. Truth be told, the passenger seat seems to have enough room in case your girlfriend is a bit on the skinny side, but it’s not real estate which concerns me.
The 165 hp Testatreta DS engine is capable of mind blowing accelerations and I’ve had a bit of trouble keeping in the saddle myself when twisting the throttle a tad quicker than the usual. Maybe the Strada version is more reassuring, with its backrest, but it’s really hard to picture riding with a passenger on the base model.
