Watch How Opel's Cascada Closing Its Soft Top in Seconds

It's hard not to be impressed with Opel's brand new convertible. The Cascada is a very hot midsize drop-top that made its production-car debut at the Geneva International Motor Show 2013, all 4.7 meters of it.
Just like the Audi A5 Cabriolet, the Cascada has seating for four people and a folding fabric roof. Opel wanted to ensure none of the design is well above average, so it made the Cascada with a flush folding roof that completely disappears inside the boot, not like a Fiat 500c or VW Beetle Cabrio.

In these videos shot at Cascada's official debut in Geneva, you can see the fabric roof folding away neatly into the storage compartment inside the boot in a matter of seconds. Official numbers say the mechanism operates in just 17 seconds and can be activated at speeds of up to 50 km/h, basically the in-town speed limit.

A word of warning though. When we played with the Cascada in Geneva, we found that you can't get things into the boot if the roof is there. There's still plenty of room, but you can't get to it because of the tiny opening.
