The 997-generation Porsche 911 GT3, with its superb handling balance, is the kind of car that easily earns the status of your best friend, but don’t ever let it catch you out, or it will bite without any trace of remorse. Apparently, this is exactly what happens in the video below, which reportedly shows a GT3 test drive in South Africa.
The uploader of the video explains that the footage was captured while following a 911 GT3 (this appears to be the pre-revamp 997.1 model) which was being test driven. In a relatively unsurprising manner, the driver adopts a pretty... ahem... cheesy style.
For instance, he is impatient to escape from behind a BMW X5 and, as soon as he finds a gap, he floors it, pulling away from the “camera car”.
As he reaches a junction, he maintains this attitude - the GT3 enters a wide right-hand 90-degree turn and, as soon as the driver passes the imaginary apex, he kinda’ floors it. The back steps out and the man ovvercorects. The 911 GT3 ends up spinning the other way, hitting the curb in a violent manner. In spite of the poor video quality, it’s not difficult to figure out that the Porsche tooks quite some damage there.
Perhaps the only thing worse than the driving style which led to this is the NSFW language of the man filming...
