The Ferrari 458 Speciale is certainly not enjoying the... special attention any Prancing Horse desires. People keep crashing the spicier edition of the 458, whether it’s on the track or simply on public roads (we lost count around the sitch accident). Now we’ve got an example of a driver who is making sustained efforts to prove he doesn’t deserve to be behind the wheel of the Speciale.
The painful action takes place in the supercar’s home country, Italy and starts in a manner that seems rather positive. While we don’t condone public road powersliding, we see the driver putting the 458 Speciale’s new Side Slip Control software to work in a roundabout.
The footage shows us various hooning moments, but things take a turn for the worse when the guy fails to notice (or perhaps he doesn’t care) a series of road issues ahead of him. He does brake but it’s all too late - the supercar hits the nasty tarmac section, with this even resulting in a bit of air time.
As you can see in the clip, the unfortunate intimate encounter with the asphalt has at least damaged the rear diffuser, with each and every fin wearing the signs of this.
Of course, the man doesn’t seem to be too worried about this and keeps on hooning the Speciale as if nothing had happened. Oh well, at least the resulting soundtrack is a blast (no pun intended).
