Are we on some strange acid trip after watching too much Harry Potter? No, it’s all real and it comes not from central London but from a Czech artist who did something very... different to celebrate the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
The iconic red double-decker bus has sprouted a couple of huge red, shiny and apparently very strong arms. These hide powerful hydraulics that can push the six-ton vehicle up and down as if it were doing push up.
The bus is now now considered a sculpture named “London Boosted”. Czech artist David Cerny says he likes push-up because they are universally know for improving physical abilities.
We’re not convinced this can be called art - it’s more like the attractions at amusement parts. But that doesn’t mean it’s not entertaining to watch it in action. And a one... two... three... tuck in that belly and straighten those arms!
