So far 2014 hasn’t proven to be a particularly friendly year for cars, as we have a new case of a group of vehicles being swallowed whole by the collapsing land underneath. Following the Corvette Museum sinkhole disaster, which took place in February, we are here to show you a somewhat similar happening in Baltimore.
The video below shows a group of cars being taken down by a collapsing urban street edge. The footage isn’t entirely clear, but there were ten or more cars destroyed in the unfortunate event.
It is believed that multiple days of heavy rained weakened the urban structure and the clip shows it falling apart, sending the cars crashing onto the railroad tracks below.
We can see a group of people watching the disaster happen and we have to warn you on the fact that the video includes quite some screaming from the scared witnesses - keep in mind that the landslide here also took down street lights and trees.
Residents had reportedly been concerned about the street for quite some time, but with no effect. However, the damage extends past what we see here and people living in the area could be evacuated until the authorities make sure everything is safe. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the unfortunate event.
