Nowadays, even mundane cars receive teasers, so you can imagine that, when it comes to supercars, aficionados need tons of patience to deal with the wave of spoilers that automakers throw at us whenever such a performance machine is born. And few supercars have delivered vicious teasing like the 2017 Ford GT.
Even now that the Blue Oval's halo car has reached its first owners, we're still receiving the shenanigans it delivers bit by bit.

We recently talked about the kind of driving experience the EcoBoost V6-animated machine delivers on the track (we must thank Chris Harris) and we're now back on the topic to discuss the straight-line abilities of the Ford.

Ah yes, the pleasures delivered by the Launch Control of the beast - you'll get to experience such stunts in the clip at the bottom of the page. The footage we have here shows an LC take-off from both outside and inside the supercar and the beast is just as impressive as you'd expect it to be.

You'll be able to check out the 3,000+ rpm feature, which sees the mid-engined Ford sprinting towards the horizon with fury. Nevertheless, as the YouTuber who delivers this adventure aptly mentions, the mix between the relatively cold outside temp and the tires, which hadn't been warmed up prior to the launch, means the standing start involves quite a bit of wheelspin.

Even so, the velocity might of the Ford GT shines through, as it's obvious that this animal will give you tons and tons of giggles.

In drag strip terms, the 2017 Ford GT has managed to complete the quarter-mile run in 10.7 seconds and comparing it to the less exclusive, but also less expensive, McLaren 720S is inevitable.

When it comes to acceleration matters, the Woking animal's superior power-to-weight ratio (think 2.1 kg/hp vs. 2.4 kg/hp) will allow it to dominate the Ford, as confirmed by the 720S' 10.1s 1,320 feet time.

However, we're still waiting to see a lap time battle between the Ford GT and the McLaren 720S. Until then, we'll remind you that the 2017/2018 GT has battled the Camaro ZL1 and a tuned first-generation GT in amateur circuit brawls.
