As for DSG, Volkswagen is also looking for ways to start construction of a new DSG plant in China that would have a production goal of 500,000 units per year. The plant is projected to open its doors in 2012. Volkswagen is still holding talks with several parties to support he project, including FAW VW and Shanghai VW.
"For the Volkswagen Group, China is one of the most important markets in the world We are already well-positioned there with a broad product portfolio," said Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft.
