Volvo has just announced the pricing information for the new V40 R-Design, as well as the V40 Cross Country crossover. The R-Design D2 starts at £22,295, and it gets a lot of equipment and a few sporty touches, as well. With a redesigned front bumper and rear diffuser, 17-inch alloys, matte-silver door mirrors, special branded upholstery inside and a sports steering wheel and pedals, it is a very tempting proposition.
Aside from the aforementioned modifications, the equipment list includes adaptive xenon headlights, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, keyless start and rear mood lighting. It can be specified with one ‘special’ color, called Rebel Blue, which is unique to the R-Design, while six other options are available for those who do not fancy blue. The pack can be specified for any model, and the range topper, the T5 Geartronic R-Design Lux Nav, will set you back £31,390.

The V40 Cross Country starts at £22,595, in SE trim, and it gets power-folding mirrors with integrated lights, 16-inch alloys, rain sensor, unique tread plates and silver roof rails. Opt for the Lux version, and you get part-leather upholstery, adaptive xenon headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED DRLs, as well as rear reading and ambient lighting. For the Cross Country, the range topper, the T5 Geartronic Lux Nav with all-wheel drive costs from £33,875. With the lower insurance ratings, brought about by the standard-fit AEB, the V40 is a really good buy, we say.
