The compact luxury market is really heating up this year. You’ve got the Mercedes A-Class, BMW 1-Series and Audi A3, all brand new and offering everything from economy to superb performance.
Volvo’s also introduced its own premium hatchback, called the V40. The key to profitability for all these €20,000+ cars is customization – letting the buyer go wild with paintjobs and features. The Volvo V40 is no exception, and at the Paris Motor Show they’ve just shown the most dramatic package so far.
It’s called the V40 R-Design, and it gives a slightly sportier look, in line with Polestar’s tuning products. The package brings a re-designed front bumper, a silk-metallic grille, a new integrated diffuser at the back, chromed mirrors and 17-inch or 18-inch wheels.
Inside, the V40’s seats get leather/T-Tec upholstery, there’s a sports steering wheel, pedals and a TFT screen on top of the dash.
