The New York Auto Show is an event that not only allows automotive producers to display their latest concept and series production vehicle, but also gives the public the name of the new World Car of the Year.
This year, the VW Up! managed to get in front of all the other contestants, being the best of the initial 34 cars. Actually, there are four categories, including the overall one, where the Up! competed, the Green World Car of the Year, which crowned the Mercedes-Benz S250 CDI BlueEfficiency (you might know this as the four-cylinder diesel S-Class), the World Car Design of the Year, which was dominated by the Range Rover Evoque.
Of course, we also have our favorite, the World Performance Car of the Year, but this deserves a dedicated piece of news, which you can find here.
