With the success of VW’s city car triplets pretty much guaranteed, the German automaker has taken the first steps toward diversifying the range on offer by introducing a Cross version of its Up!.
Much smaller and cheaper than a Polo Cross, the little softroader from Volkswagen promises to be quite popular with European customers. With its large, beefy alloy wheels and black protective elements, the Cross Up! is, in our opinion, better looking than a regular Up!.
Power comes from the same 75 PS three-cylinder petrol engine offered in top versions of the city car. The only transmission option available at launch is the snippy five-speed manual, which is ideal for city driving.
Prices in Germany for the new Volkswagen Cross Up! start at €13,925, which is €2,850 less than the €16,775 Polo Cross. More details should be announced when the Cross Up! makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, but for now, enjoy our full photo gallery.
