Thought Ken Block had a monopoly on putting tracks on offroad vehicles and taken them where they shouldn't go? Think again, as Volkswagen Sweden has once again unleashed a Touareg SUV onto the unforgiving wilderness, tearing at the snow with its large tracks.
To ensure you don't get bogged down on soft surfaces, it's good to have a wide load area to disperse the weight. That's why these tracks are much bigger than regular tires. But, you also need a lot power to move, which is why the SUV packs a 4.2-liter TDI V8 diesel, good for 340 PS and more importantly 800 Nm of torque.
Apparently, this sort of mod is quite popular in snow-covered areas, like the northern part of Canada. We just wish this was done with a Range Rover Supercharger or a Porsche Cayenne Turbo, something that really moves.
