Now, the German piece of automotive desire has become even more attractive, as it can offer a special set of seats that hug the driver and the front passenger, seducing them into performance transportation.
Volkswagen is introducing the racing-inspired bucket seats from the Golf R to the Scirocco. The company claims these are some sort of racing seats adapted for a road car. The seats have been specifically engineered to offer a high level of ergonomics, providing optimum lateral support.
“Performance-seeking drivers now have the opportunity to order the Scirocco with a set of race car-inspired bucket seats that are optimized to offer a perfect lateral support. The seats are the driver and the front passenger’s best friends when the vehicle enters a racetrack: through their shape and quality, they allow the occupants to concentrate on the driving experience, enjoying every bend that the vehicle is going through,” stated the press release.
However, Volkswagen claims the bucket seats are not a feature that only appeals to hardcore track enthusiasts, as they also offer long-journey comfort. The lateral parts and headrests are finished in Vienna leather, while the center section uses a San Remo micro fiber finish. In addition to that, the seat back is finished in black. The seats also come with R logos on the head restraints.
However, all these goodies come with a price. The factory bucket seats for the Scirocco R will set you back EUR3,180 ($4,425).
