The new Passat Alltrack was first shown by VW at the Tokyo Auto Show in December, and now the soft-roading dog mover is available for order in major European market. To mark the occasion, the automaker has sent a fresh batch of photos showing a little red number our way.
The Alltrack is based on the Estate version of the popular VW model, but it has been fitted with raised suspension, aluminum underbody protection panels and plastic cladding for the body.

The body sits 165 mm off the ground, which is 3 cm higher than the standard Passat. the front and rear bumper have also been changed so you get better approach and departure angles.

the Alltrack is fitted as standard with 4Motion AWD, which offers an electrohydraulic Haldex clutch. It even comes with a dedicated off-road mode with hill descent assist, which automatically brakes the vehicle when the descent angle is too steep.
