German tuner Irmscher is set to bring one of its most ambitious projects to the Geneva Motor Show this year, with the aftermarket developer planning to give us a crossover version of the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer (ST).
Called the Insignia ST Cross4, this is a design study that aims to compete with vehicles such as the VW Passat Alltrack. The vehicle, which is based on the 4x4 version of the car, gets a soft-road body kit that includes front and rear protection elements for the bumpers, beefier wheel arches, new side skirts, a new front grille, a roof spoilerm as well as a quadruple exhaust system.
The vehicle rides on a set of Turbo Star or Silver Star Silver Evo rims, which come in a 8.5 x 20-inch size and comes with a beefier braking system. However, in a move that can’t understand, Irmsher has lowered the ride height of the car by 30 mm.
It is not clear yet if the parts presented here will be available for order, but we’ll find this out at the Swiss event.
