The VW Passat Alltrack made its world debut in Tokyo, with the car preparing for its European showroom arrival, which is scheduled for early 2012 (VW said that it’s wont also be offered in the US).
The Passat Alltrack comes with a range of engines that includes two TSI petrols (direct injected and turbocharged), a 1.8-liter with 160 hp and a 2.0-liter that generates 210 hp, and two 2.0 TDI powerplants, offering 140 and 170 hp.
The TDI unit with 170 hp and the 210 hp TSI units use VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system and the carmaker’s DSG double-clutch gearbox as standard, while the 140 hp TDI unit offers the AWD system as an option.
You can easily differentiate the Alltrack version from the regular estate, thanks to the use of plastic protection elements and to the increased ground clearance.
