Remember Herbie, the special Beetle from "The Love Bug" movie? Well, VW wants to bring it closer to reality and while it can't create an actual car with feelings, the company will release a visual imitation of Herbie.
Called Beetle 53 Edition, the vehicle is only destined for the Spanish market and comes with distinct features for the exterior and the cabin. The VW Beetle 53 edition is dressed in white and features tri-color stripes, also using "53" decals and riding on alloy wheels that come in 17-inch size.
As for the interior goodies, the glove box uses a "Beetle 53" badge, while the list of standard features ir richer compared to normal models.
Customers can choose between three engines, two diesel and a petrol unit. It all starts with the 1.2-liter TSI powerplant, which delivers 105 hp and as for the oil-burning side of the range, this includes a 1.6-liter TDI delivering 105 hp and a 140 hp 2.0-liter TDI.
