The number of electric supercar concepts seems to be constantly growing lately, but only a few of them get to eventually see some road or track action.
Fortunately, the promising 2013 Volar-E is one of those high-performance EVs that will become reality as the vehicle will be fully revealed later this week at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.
And when we say high-performance, we really mean high-performance because the Spanish engineering company Applus+Idiada has stuffed the Volar-E with four in-wheel electric motors with a total output of 800 HP and 1,106 lb-ft of torque.
Now you might ask yourselves what's the deal with Applus+Idiada? Well, it's the "leading company specialized in providing design, engineering, testing and homologation services to the automotive industry" that was chosen by the European Commission to build a high-performance EV in cooperation with Rimac.
The latter must be less of a mystery to you, since their Concept One supercar was unveiled two years ago and attended several shows.
