Things couldn't be any clearer, as the very title says it all: Holland will build the world's first highway dedicated to electric scooters and e-bikes/ pedelecs, linking the cities of Amsterdam and Almere.
The 25 km-long (15.5 miles) highway will be used exclusively by electric two- and 3-wheelers and will thus provide a safe commuting causeway between the two cities. The initiative belongs to the Dutch Tourism Office, the ANWB – an association promoting the electric mobility and the city of Almere.
These three entities form the collective ForenZO, in charge of the project's realization. To promote the project, the consortium will provide insurance for the people using the highway and industry professionals which are partners in the project will also offer price rebates. Detailed information will be available in the future, as the highway will be open for public traffic.
