Indian automotive website ZigWheels has confirmed the first two Victory motorcycles to be present in the Indian market: we're looking at the Vision and Cross Country Tour.
Victory is clearly testing to see how things are in the Indian market, a place dominated by low-cost, small-displacement bikes. It's not these machines Victory is after, however: they're aiming at the increasing number of motorcycle enthusiasts in the emerging industries, people who can afford to buy these big and expensive machines... and of course, get some of the cake Harley-Davidson is cooking in the Indian market.
These two bikes will be imported as Completely Built Units (CBU) and this will make their price almost double compared to what they sell for in the US. However, Victory knows they won't get the big bucks with them: if signals from the market are good enough, we can vouch for Victory building a complete knock-down kit (CKD) plant, just like H-D.
