Vettel Aims for Perfect Start in 2011

Many agreed that Sebastian Vettel could have bagged his first world title in career much sooner than the last round of 2010, hadn't it been for the countless reliability issues encountered by his fast Red Bull RB6.

Apart from some racing mistakes throughout the season, Vettel's championship hopes have been hit from the get go by a failed spark plug in the season opening Bahrain race, afterwards by a wheel problem in Australia. So 50 points down the drain when those could have easily been 50 good points in his championship tally.

Needless to say, because he had to wait until the last second to find out if he's world champion or not, Vettel plans to do things differently in 2011. That is, of course, if the RB6's successor, the RB7, will be as tougher nut to crack as compared to the other challengers of next season.

The championship starts with the first race, and I think many points this year we dropped,” said Vettel in a recent interview with British magazine Autosport.

We would have been much more comfortable in the end if we got these points, but we didn't, and that is what we had. Surely the target is to use every single opportunity in every race to put yourself in a stronger position, and ideally have a quieter end to the season.”

It is going to be tough next season, the cars will change, and there will be an opportunity for others to catch up. There is a chance for us to do great again, but we will have to wait and see.
