Vettel Insists Relationship with Webber Is Fine

When one becomes world champion, he has the tendency of forgetting all the bad things that happened to him throughout the process and embrace forgiveness as a natural and easy-to-nurture feeling. We somehow suspect this is what F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel is going through right now, as he recently told the media that he has no problems whatsoever with teammate Mark Webber.

A few months back, this was certainly not the situation between the two Red Bull drivers. Following the Turkish Grand Prix, in which Vettel touched Webber's car while trying to overtake him for the leading position, harsh words were exchanged between the two. A few weeks later, the situation got further complicated when a new front wing initially destined to Webber's car was switched to Vettel's racer prior to the qualifying session of the British GP.

All those episodes are now water under the bridge, claims Vettel, who admitted however that he and his teammate continue to have some differences in opinions. However, not talking to each other is not an issue within the Red Bull garage.

I think lots of it was made up and I have no problem with Mark. We found ourselves in similar positions on track, and sometimes it went wrong. It happens, it is racing at the end of the day and it shows it is not artificial,” said Vettel in an interview with Autosport.

Both of us were not happy with what happened that day [in Turkey] and sometimes it was a difficult situation, but in the end I have no problem with him and he has no problem with me.”

We had an opportunity after the race in Abu Dhabi to talk to each other. Obviously we are not similar, so on some things we have a different opinion, which is fine, is normal and human.”

We talked about it - and some of the stuff we got rid of and other things we might still have different opinions but it doesn't mean I am not looking at him any more or not talking to him any more, so it is good.”
