If you ask anyone who was a kid or a teenager in the early 1990s what is the Vanilla Ice car, they'd definitely answer the same: the Mustang that shows up in the "Ice Ice, Baby" video. It turns out that is not it.
The Vanilla Ice car is a… no-brand car. Or at least none that Robert Matthew Van Winkle, popularly known as Vanilla Ice, knows of. And he’s got to know every single car out there (almost!) because he absolutely loves cars. He is what is called a connoisseur.

Rob renovated a house in Melbourne Beach, Florida, which was heavily featured on season 7 of "The Vanilla Ice Project." The estate included 2.5 acres of land, a helipad, a five-car garage with glass doors, an elevator, and about 300 feet of private ocean views from a wrap-around balcony. However, Rob put it on the market for $5 million in 2018 and eventually sold it for $4.8 million.

But when he completed the project, his friend came up with a surprise gift. It's a car that seems more of a classic hot rod. They drove it to Rob's driveway, and that was it, it was his to keep. The rapper took it to his buddy, Bones, who painted it as a favor just because he was a huge Vanilla Ice fan.

Bones airbrushed the musician's portrait on the tailgate, and it really looks like a canvas. He also came up with references to his songs all over the body of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the hood reads "Wide Open." That is what Vanilla Ice has tattooed on his knuckles. The model also features stripes on the doors and stars on the front fenders.

When asked what kind of car he was, Rob van Winkle admitted that he had no clue. "I don't know. The Vanilla Ice car. I think that is the brand. He only made one. They went out of business after this car,” he jokes. “It is a one-of-one out of one." Of course, it is.

Vanilla Ice is indeed a car guy. He has recently talked about buying 50 Cent's blue Lamborghini Murcielago from Fred Fishback, the second owner of the car. 50 Cent forgot something in the car, which prompted jokes about his financial status between owner number 2 and owner number 3, with the latter being none other than Vanilla Ice.

He also owns a Ferrari F8 Spider painted in Avorio, which is Italian for 'Ivory.' Rob drives it around Miami on sunny days.

He has been the owner of a Ford Mustang that he bought in 1990. He restored it once and is going to do it again soon. The car also showed up in the “Ice Ice, Baby!” Video over three decades ago. And his garage is full of classic American muscle.
