What we have here, ladies and gentlemen is a V8 showdown. Chris Harris, took 3 ballistic cars to the track to compare their unbelievably powerful engines and their handling to see who comes up on top.
Arguably, the comparison could’ve been different. After all, the direct competitor of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe is the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG not the E63 AMG S Model but the numbers on the two are so close, it doesn’t really make that much of a difference, now does it?

The third car in this comparison is an aging model, the Jaguar XFR-S. Fitted with a supercharged 5-liter V8 that makes 550 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque, the Brit is supposed to reach 62 mph in 4.6 seconds. Not bad for a car that weighs nearly two tones. But then again, all of them weigh pretty much the same, with a little advantage for the Merc that’s about 150 kilos lighter than the other two.

However, just as Chris points out, the weight of the 3 doesn’t seem to be a factor here. All of them carry themselves around easily, never letting you know that there are 2 tones of metal sitting all around you. Furthermore, on a track, they all come alive and give you a grin that will take over your whole face. Just look at Harris’ face when he’s driving them and you’ll understand.

The problem is that most people will only drive them on a proper road and that’s where the Merc seems to have the edge, being a bit more comfortable than the rest. Not by a large margin though.

Going to the track is still a rather rare thing to do for a man that can afford such a car. The only kind of racing anyone that buys one of these will do will take place between red lights inside a city or on a highway. A drag race was, therefore, inevitable. Let's see what happened.
