Although it’s only eight months away from completion, the upcoming motorsport park that's being built right next to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green has already booked 118 events, WKU Public Radio reports.
To be opened in time for the Museum’s 20th anniversary in August, the park will feature a 3.1-mile road course, a kart track, a quarter mile drag strip and a 10-acre autocross course. The park won’t be restricted to Corvettes, said general manager Mitch Wright, adding that vehicles and motorcycles of any type will be welcomed.
“One of the things that we’re facing is that we’re not a ‘Corvette-only’ facility, we’re open to any-and-all-groups. As a matter of fact, our first group - other than a Corvette event that we’ve planned in late September - our very first client is Bluegrass BMW club,” he said.
Construction for the park is on schedule with the track surface to be laid down in late spring, Wright added.
