We previously reported that there were quite a few Ford F-150 Raptors being imported into China, through a ‘grey market’ system, at exaggerated prices of between 600,000 and 1-million yuan or between $105,000 and $160,000. Well, it seems that more and more of these have begun appearing throughout the country - it seems they are so plentiful you can see two in one day, in Beijing at least.
One was a regular two-door pick-up, while the other was the rarer four-door ‘crew cab’ model, with a covered rear end. Both were red and showed no signs of having been modified - the regular pick-up was registered, while the crew cab model bore no license plates to speak of.
This brings into light the discussion about bringing the Raptor to China officially, so that the Chinese buyers could get the truck at a fair price, and while it may still end up being considerably more expensive than in the States, at least the prices will be kept under check by the dealers.
