The Green Mamba (Dendroaspis angusticeps, viridis, or jamesoni) are three species of arboreal snakes found on the continent of Africa. They're beautiful due to their colorful green appearance but also extremely venomous – their neurotoxicity renders them extremely dangerous.
The mamba's legend builds on the speed with which its venom affects humans and leads to death within hours of a bite. Luckily, while the World Health Organization classifies all three species as a Snake of Medical Importance, there are few records of snakebites. Alas, that didn't stop it from putting a lasting impression on the human race.

As such, many folks liken the bright green shades with speed and potential death-defying action – including in the world of automobiles. Thus, it isn't a rare occurrence to see a feisty car dressed like a dangerous mamba – and try to win the glory of racing all for itself. Here, let us give you an example.

A new YouTube channel aptly named The Drag Race seeks to make a name for itself on the scene with racer interviews and quarter-mile dragstrip action – they're on point at Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey, the fief of the good folks over at the racing-focused ImportRace channel on YouTube. Well, as it turns out, there's a good reason for that.

In fact, ImportRace's host is the same, and the newer YouTube channel just brings more in-depth details about some of the coolest races the first one recorded – along with quick chats focusing on the driver and their 'beautifully lethal' rides for the adversaries. As such, you might have previously seen the 'Green Mamba' Ford Mustang Boss 302 (the color is probably Gotta Have It Green from 2013-2014).

Now we're back with more footage from Island Dragway to get a bit more details on the twin-turbo first-gen Coyote V8 monster directly from the source. It was previously shown racing a black, classic first-generation Pontiac GTO rocking a hidden blower assembly! Naturally, this old versus new school drag race was one for the ages, albeit with major differences between the two racers – the GTO dropped a respectable 11.29s, but the 302 gave it the hit and still mauled it with a 6.84s victory!

The second and third races were also against traditional opponents - an old-school G-body, a third-generation Chevy Monte Carlo, was also demolished after an 11.19s versus 6.83s victory; and the quirky drag of the day involved a little first-gen Volkswagen Golf GTI (Rabbit in the US and Canada, as per the square headlights) that showed how consistent this Boss 302 could perform under load: 11.1s versus 6.8s!

Interestingly, this new video also contains additional footage at the beginning. As it turns out, the Mustang also faced off against a blue sports car from the 1980s or 1990s (is that a third-generation Pontiac Firebird Trans Am or something else?), and that was a skirmish that triggers a different perspective: even when completely relaxed, this Boss 302 still drops ten-second passes: 10.46s versus 12.87s for the adversary.
