Following in the footsteps of the Wrangler, the Gladiator is now available in Tuscadero as well. The $895 paint color is an eye-catching magenta that joins another new-for-2024 paint color, that being the $595 Anvil.
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator's online configurator also shows Firecracker Red, Silver Zynith, Hydro Blue, Granite Crystal, High Velocity, Bright White, Sarge, and Black. Of said hues, only white is free of charge. Those in the market for Tuscadero can specify this finish on the Sport, Mojave, and Rubicon trim levels.
Tuscadero will expand to additional grades in the latter part of Q2 2024, yet Jeep did not mention which other trim levels will receive said color. As of May 2024, the Gladiator comes in a grand total of seven grades, beginning with the Sport and Sport S. The remainder comprises the Willys, Mojave, Rubicon, Mojave X, and the Rubicon X. The latter trims are both priced at $63,590 sans destination charge, whereas $56,880 gets you either the Rubicon or the Mojave.
FCA US LLC delivered 55,188 units of the Gladiator in 2023, down 29 percent from the 77,855 sold in the United States back in 2022. The off-road pickup truck posted a decrease in the first quarter of 2024 as well, namely 12,989 deliveries compared to 13,575 in the first quarter of 2022.
A bit pricey compared to pretty much every other mid-sized pickup on sale today, the Gladiator comes with 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 power exclusively for 2024. The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is no more, but looking at the glass half full, there's a plug-in hybrid 2.0-liter turbo I4 in the pipeline.
Under the current UAW-Stellantis agreement, Toledo Assembly Complex will receive $1.5 billion through April 2028 in preparation for the next-generation Wrangler. It's codenamed J70, and thus far, Stellantis has also confirmed all-electric and range-extender powertrains for the J70.

JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator production will continue into 2028, and come 2025, the automaker will debut an updated plug-in hybrid system for the Wrangler 4xe. Said plug-in hybrid setup will carry over to the Gladiator in 2025 as well, therefore filling the void left by the EcoDiesel.
4xe means 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission, an electric motor built into said transmission, a motor generator attached to the four-pot engine, and a lithium-ion battery. The high-voltage pack is rated at 17.3 kilowatt hours; the motor generator is good for 44 horsepower; and the traction motor in the transmission develops 134 horsepower.
All told, Wrangler 4xe makes 375 horsepower and a Wrangler 392-matching 470 pound-feet (637 Nm) of torque. Unfortunately, there are no plans of shoehorning the 392-cube HEMI under the hood of the Gladiator due to increasingly prohibitive fuel economy regulations. These regulations explain the new Dodge Charger's inline-six and electric powertrains, a far cry from the third-generation HEMI engines of the L-platform Charger.
Refreshed for model year 2024, the Gladiator now comes with standard side-curtain airbags for the first and second rows. Cordless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also need to be mentioned. From the Sport S trim level up, standard goodies further include forward collision warning and advanced cruise control with stop function.
