A while back, German tuner Tuningwerk was coming out, saying that they have a hardcore version of the BMW M235i available for sale, one that would make you forget that there’s no M2 available at the moment.
Back then we were impressed by the numbers posted by their version of the little Coupe and wanted to know more. That moment has come and the tuner released the complete info related to their RS version and we’re really taken aback of the work they put into making it.
To get it to 444 HP and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque the guys decided to keep the original N55HP 3-liter turbocharged engine under the bonnet and add a couple of their own parts.
That’s how if you pop the hood now, you’ll find a new cooling kit (comprised of a new main radiator, oil cooler, new intercooler and additional coolant radiator with an 850W fan), a new heat exchanger, new midpipes, new turbocharger, a tuning box (that has a new ECU map in it), a modified, aluminum oil pan and a new exhaust system.
The gearbox has a new flywheel and a sport clutch, the brake system was replaced by a Brembo Racing version with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston ones at the back and a KW V3 suspension was added to the mix for better handling. To top it all up, the stock differential was swapped with a Drexler limited-slip one.
Inside, you’ll find new Recaro Pole Position seats, body stiffening struts and the complete BMW M Performance experience, including the steering wheel we had on our car when we tested the M235i.
From the outside, the new front lip, rear diffuser and rear spoiler made of carbon fibre will let you know this car is not stock alongside the 18” BBS rims wrapped in Dunlop Direzza tires.
