When its engine compartment packs eight cylinders, the S550 Mustang provides a superbly affordable way into the muscle car world, and yet if you're looking for serious performance, the GT isn't quite enough. As a result, you'll either have to ask the aftermarket world to work on your Coyote, turn to a Shelby GT350 or even go for the latter and then seek tuning help.
We're here to show you what the outcome of such pony-tuning pathways can be and this is a matter solved with a good old drag race. We're dealing with a pair of 'Stangs here, namely a Mustang GT with a supercharger kit and a Shelby GT350 that has also gone down the aftermarket road.

While the five-oh seen here was tweaked by Famous Autosports, we're not aware of the details surrounding the GT350's performance enhancement.

The two Mustangs met on an empty airfield, engaging in a half-mile battle that used a standing start. Nevertheless, you'll have to keep in mind that this is the kind of stunt where the trap speed, not the first car crossing the finish line, is what matters.

We don't want to spoil the fun of the video by letting you know the winner in advance, so don't expect any spoilers to be dropped. Nevertheless, when it comes to the aural side of the fight we have here, the winner is obvious.

The flat-plane voice of the GT350, which has been made even stronger thanks to the aftermarket work done on the VooDoo heart of the car, is also the reason for which this pumped-up pony was used as a "camera car" for the video. Don't worry, though, you'll also get an... impartial angle from a camera mounted at the starting line. Not that the other Mustang's blown growl sounds half bad.
