Stanleybet Taking Bets on Who Will Be Rossi's New Teammate

The rider market in the MotoGP championship is in turmoil after the recent developments, and the bookies are not idling. In fact, Stanleybet is the first one to reveal the odds for the most expected announcement, the one that makes public the name of Valentino Rossi's new teammate after the current season.

It's no surprise to see Stanleybet indicating Suzuki's current factory rider Maverick Vinales as the rider credited with the biggest chances to ride the Yamaha M1 machine starting with the post-race test at Valencia. Vinales' odds are 1.30, and we expected such a low figure because of the fact that almost the entire MotoGP paddock sees this as the next move for him.

We don't have the odds for Vinales staying with Suzuki, but we're positive they are significantly higher. After all, there still is a possibility that the young Spaniard retains his GSX-RR, as we indicated in this editorial.

Next in line comes Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso, with 3.50 odds, indicating that people who are no strangers to the bookmakers expect Borgo Panigale to fire Dovi. His current teammate, Andrea Iannone is perceived less likely to be offered a factory seat at Yamaha, and his odds sit now at 4.50.

Other interesting and even funny bets also see Pol Espargaro on Yamaha's list, and the 2013 Superbike Champion Tom Sykes. While Sykes' 30.00 odds are coherent with the (un)likelihood that Yamaha would have him as Rossi's teammate in 2017, it's rather funny to see the younger of the Espargaro brothers with 6.00, but you know how it works: people fork out money and bet...

Of course, the most ridiculous bet at Stanleybet relates to the name of Marc Marquez. The odds of MM93 becoming VR46's teammate at Yamaha in 2017 are 75.00, which is probably more than any other rider in MotoGP would get in the present situation. And still, it looks like there are people betting on this, too. We wonder what's next?

Oh well, maybe Casey Stoner would get a higher, three-digit figure...
