Jerry Seinfeld’s famous comedy show rarely mentioned cars at all, and that’s probably because for him motoring is a very serious thing.
Now Seinfeld is going to blend his love of joking around with the passion for automobiles in a show called "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee", which will premier next week on Thursday, July 19.
The trailer shows all sorts of cool cars, the old Mercedes gullwing, a Dodge Challenger, a Beetle and the obligatory Porsche. The atmosphere is relaxed and unscripted, but you don’t seem to get that old Seinfeld punch.
Jerry started out in motorcycles when he was young and found that he loved minimal things. That’s probably why he loves Porsches so much - because there’s no design for design’s sake.
His first car was a ‘88 Porsche 911 Carrera which gave him a simple connection. Since then he bought everything from the latest turbo to the 917 race car.
