When Toyota decided to become cool again, one of the main reasons it succeeded was simple – they allowed the motorsport experts from Gazoo Racing to intervene.
Now, the TGR brand is the equivalent of AMG or M GmbH from the German world, and they come with ample experience from WRC, WEC (World Endurance Championship), or the World Rally-Raid Championship. Soon, the results came, crushing the competition on the streets and the track with the GR Supra, GR Yaris, GR86, and GR Corolla.

Note that we started with the flagship model as the model holds significant significance for Toyota fans – and is also a cause of major controversy due to the fifth generation's cost-cutting partnership with BMW. As such, the GR Supra is not considered accurate JDM material because it has the same underpinnings as the (G29) BMW Z4 roadster, and both cars are produced at the Magna Steyr plant in Graz, Austria.

Production started in 2019, and currently, the 2024 GR Supra has entered its fourth season in America with pricing kicking off at a rather expensive $45,540 – and that's just for the meager 2.0-liter model. The sporty 3.0 options start from $54,500, and you'll probably want the 45th Anniversary Edition if you're a big fan of the nameplate – but that will set you back no less than $64,375. Suddenly, the $65k 2024 Nissan Z Nismo doesn't sound so incredible because of its 420 hp – although let's also remember the G87 BMW M2 is 'just' $63,200!

Anyway, what if the main issue with the GR Supra is not about its costly price tag but rather with the design? Then, I am afraid you are out of luck until Toyota decides it's time for the traditional mid-cycle facelift. And I am sorry to say that's going to be a while because the Japanese automaker is currently preoccupied with testing the feistier Supra GRMN at the Nürburgring Nordschleife and the prototypes look unchanged compared to regular GR Supras aside from some additional aero work.

Luckily for those who are too impatient to wait for the OEMs, there are always solutions to such predicaments – even if only virtually. As such, let us move across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. Over there, influential automotive creator Jon Sibal, titled jonsibal on social media, is back for another attempt at making a fifth-gen GR Supra greater than ever. And his ideas don't rhyme with GRMN but instead with Prius 'Hybrid Reborn.'

That's because not long ago, the pixel master decided to integrate the unique front end of the latest Prius series with the GR86, and it seems he liked the idea so much that a GR Supra was his next 'victim.' Interestingly, both look a lot more like something Toyota would do, and they integrate nicely with new models like the Prius or S235 Crown crossover-sedan. Or maybe that's just us getting mesmerized by the great widebody aero work and the slammed stance; who knows!

So, what do you think is this line of action – adapting the Prius styling to additional models, including from the GR range, a wise course of action? And do we want this 'sort-of-facelift' to happen sooner or later after the Supra GRMN has had its minute of fame in the automotive spotlight?
