Together with its new “Let’s Go Places Safely” motto, Toyota wants to share with its customers more about the safety equipment fitted on most of its vehicles in the range.
In the video bellow, we’ll have a look at how the Pedestrian Safety System and how it was developed and calibrated.

The Pedestrian Safety System uses a small radar placed inside the front bumper that scans the road ahead for people. If a person walks in front of the vehicle, it will be detected and the driver will be notified via a visual and acoustic signal. If he doesn’t react, the vehicle will automatically apply the brakes. Depending on the speed, the impact with the pedestrian can be avoided or the damage can be mitigated.

Hit the play button bellow and see how testing for this sort of technology went.
