Toyota Prius C and Chevrolet Malibu Eco: IIHS Top Safety Pick

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recently offered its Top Safety Pick title to the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco, as well as to the 2012 Toyota Prius C.
The 2013 Malibu followed the footsteps of the 2012 model, which was also a IIHS Top Safety Pick and managed to do so wven without the optional side airbags. As for the Toyota Prius c, this follows the Prius and the Prius v, showing that hybrids can be extremely safe.

The IIHS also released the videos of the crash tests for the two cars, so you can see how they behave in the event of an impact by scrolling down. The clips show the side impacts for the Malibu and the Prius, offering both outside and on-board footage.
