Japanese automaker Toyota once again outsold General Motors in the January - September sales period this year.
Toyota sold 7.41 million vehicles in the first nine months of 2013 while GM sold 7.25 million. Despite its 4.6 percent increase over last year, General Motors still didn’t managed to beat the Japanese.

Germany’s Volkswagen AG came third with just over 7 million vehicles sold worldwide in the same period, representing almost 5 percent more from last year.

Toyota explained that the growth is based on the strong US sales, where the Camry, Corolla and Tundra are still popular and sell like crazy.

Toyota regained its global sales crown in 2012 after the 2011 natural disasters in Japan placed it third place after GM and Volkswagen.
