Exactly 76 years ago, 28th of August 1937, Kiichiro Toyoda founded the company we know today as Toyota Motor Corporation, a spinoff from his father company Toyota Industries to create automobiles.
Actually, the first Toyota passenger car, the AA model, was created in 1936. It was a 4-door sedan, powered a 3.4-liter 6-cylinder engine making 62 horsepower, all going to the rear wheels via a 3-speed column-shift manual gearbox.

World War II almost sank the company, but it regain its strength with the Toyopet SB, Stout, Crown and Corona that entered the market after 1947. Targeting the United States, the vehicles known as Toyopets had to be renamed and this is how all the vehicles got to be named just like the company - Toyota.

Fast forward to 2013 and Toyota got its title as world’s biggest automaker, with millions of vehicles sold in all countries, ecological orientation and with plenty philanthropic campaigns to sustain learning, community caring and environmentalist campaigns.
