If the Toyota Prius c is the queen when it comes to hybrid efficiency, the Toyota Aygo is its equivalent in the gasoline-powered class according to latest studies.
British publication What Car? recently conducted their True MPG Test that puts cheap new cars in real conditions to determine which one is the most fuel efficient. And according to their results, the Toyota Aygo claimed top position in gasoline-powered class returning an average fuel consumption of 57 mpg UK (47 mpg US / 4.9 l/100 km). And the Aygo is a money-saver right from the begining as it’s available from just £7,995 in Active trim.
The only vehicle under £10,000 that scored bigger in the test was the Dacia Sandero with 61.7 mpg UK (51.4 mpg US / 4.5 l/100 km) but that one was powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine.
