This is the second year in a row for Lexus to be named the luxury brand with the lowest projected ownership costs during the first five years by Kelley Blue Book.
Depreciation is the most feared factor that contributes to ownership cost, but Lexus models have the lowest depreciation cost of any other luxury brand, thanks to strong residual values across the full model lineup. Moreover, Lexus also ranks lowest in repairs and is ranked among the lowest in fuel and insurance costs.
The key models that contributed to the low-cost award include the ES and IS sedans as well as the RX crossover SUV. KBB also placed the LS flagship sedan in first place in the top High-End Luxury Car while the RX was first in Hybrid SUV/Crossover category.
