Along with the many other updates the 2014 Toyota Highlander comes with the Hybrid powertrain, which is probably the most important one as it makes everything better, just like sodium monoglutamate.
The refined hybrid system on the 2014 Highlander is made up of a 3.5-liter V6 mated to an electric motor and automatic gearbox, totaling 231 hp and 215 lb-ft of torque.
This setup provides a 28 mpg fuel economy, which puts the Highlander Hybrid in top position as the most fuel-efficient three-row SUV in Auto Guide’s new Top 10.
Oh, and with 22 mpg combined rating, the standard 2.7-liter dour-cylinder 187 hp Toyota Highlander came on seventh place, which is not bad for a car of its size fitted with a four-pot.
