Mysteries have always fascinated humankind and once the secret is revealed, the matter becomes less popular. We don't know whether the Stig faces the same unfortunate fate now that his identity has been discovered but we do know that one of television biggest mystery characters has been unmasked.

According to The Telegraph, the mysterious character let his secret slip when he asked two Bristol gallery owners to help him produce a limited-edition print of The Stig in action. That being said, the secret racing driver from Top Gear that helped Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May test new cars is no one else than the professional stuntman and Le Mans racer Ben Collins. Perhaps you were among Top Gear's fans who have suspected Collins for being The Stig in the recent months but little does this matter since the speculations have come to an end.

Gallery owner Simon Whitehead confessed he was “absolutely amazed when he said he was The Stig, it was quite a big thing in a weird way."

Another person who discovered The Stig's identity was builder Jason Goody, 21. He found out the secret when he did some work at Collins' home and found the famous white suit and gloves on display in a cabinet.

The interesting part is that Collins has always denied being The White Stig from Top Gear as he could get fired for revealing the secret just like the first Stig. Stunt driver Perry McCarthy lost the job after unveiling The Black Stig's identity in his book Flat Out, Flat Broke, published in 2002. He was known as The Black Stig because he was always wearing a black suit and helmet.

However, A Top Gear spokesman said: "We never comment on speculation as to who or what The Stig is."

So, what next? Since the identity of White Stig has not been officially revealed and is regarded as a carefully guarded secret by the BBC, we truly wonder what is going to happen with Collins from now on.
