The event will be special, as an important part of the featured vehicles have been in storage since the early 1990s and will need recommissioning in order to be brought to running commission, with some of them set to become unique restoration projects. However, some of the vehicles only require a new MOT inspection.
“There are several Daimlers on offer, including a 1949 DB 18 4-door saloon, 1954 Century Conquest Saloon, 1958 Majestic 4-door saloon, and several Century saloons that will interest post-War collectors. The 1959 Daimler DK400 dates from the final year of production and is one of just 86 built in total that feature the standard Limousine body. There are also several interesting cars dating from the 1960s and 1970s including two Bentley TI saloons, one of which had a starring role in the seventies crime-busting series - The Sweeney” said Blackbushe manager James Gibson.
"The 1969 Crayford Cortina Mk 2 1600 Convertible is a rare car, and a choice of mid-sixties Cortinas – including a 1966 Mk 1 two-door and 1967 Mk Estate - is sure to attract collectors and enthusiasts. The sale also features a sprinkling of Americana, with a 1972 GM Oldsmobile Toronado 2-door, that was the original 1972 London Motorshow car, a pair of 1973 Thunderbird Convertibles, and a 1979 Lincoln Continental. There is also a 1970 Chrysler Valiant Convertible, an Australian variant that is a very rare car on UK shores,” Gibson added.
