As we're approaching the end of 2023 and getting ready for whatever 2024 might bring, both good and bad, 'tis the last stretch of discounts for video games. So let's take one last good look over at the Steam Winter Sale and see which racing games would be worthy of your hard-earned cash.
Obviously, we're starting off with the 3rd best-selling video game in history with over 190 million copies, Grand Theft Auto V at only 15 bucks. In terms of sales, it's only behind Minecraft with over 300 million and Tetris at around 520 million.

But the way things are going with GTA 6, in regards to the reveal trailer that's sitting pretty at almost 160 million views, it might just be that in 10 years, Grand Theft Auto VI will become the third most sold game in history; or who knows, maybe it will even surpass Minecraft one day.

Another great title that's making the rounds more and more on YouTube and Twitch is BeamNG.drive at almost $17. It's not really a fully-fledged game, per se, but more of a soft body deformation simulator with realistic physics. People have taken a liking to this one. In fact, almost 200,000 Steam users gave it an "Overwhelming Positive" score of 97%, which is ridiculously high.

If we compare BeamNG's score to Forza Motorsport, we'll notice a huge gap. Motorsport is currently sitting at a "Mostly Negative" score of 38%, which is disastrous, especially for a title that won "Best Sports/Racing Game" at the 2023 Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Speaking of Forza, the latest entry is now 20% off at $56, while previous titles like Forza Horizon 5 and 4 cost $30 and $23, respectively. Keep in mind that they're also available on Xbox and PC Game Pass, along with tens of other great games.

However, for those of you tired of Forza Horizon 5 and want something new but in the same vein, you might want to check out the awesome Crew Motorfest. It's currently 50% off at 35 bucks on the Ubisoft Store. It's a great arcade racer and one of my overall favorite games from 2023.

But if you don't want to spring it, then it's also on Ubisoft+, the monthly $15 subscription service on Xbox consoles and PC (sorry, no PlayStation). Along with Motorfest, you also get every other Ubisoft title, including upcoming ones, as long as you're subscribed.

Next, we have F1 23, a great, although imperfect, entry to the Formula 1 series. It's now $21, but if you already have EA Play or EA Play Pro, you might want to check there first before buying it on Steam. And given that we can't say EA without bringing up Need for Speed, Unbound is at an all-time low, under 10 bucks, which I think is a fantastic price for such a fun game.

It didn't break any records, but to me, it's still one of the best entries from the NFS series we've had in years. NFS Heat Deluxe Edition is also incredibly cheap, at just three and a half bucks. But if you really want to hit the jackpot, which includes Need for Speed (2016), Heat, Most Wanted, Payback, Rivals, Hot Pursuit Remastered, and Unbound, it's $22 as a Mega Collection Bundle.

If the real-life icy and snow-filled roads weren't enough to test your nerves, SnowRunner is here to put them to the test. It's 50% off at $15, which is a fair asking price for an off-road "simulator," which puts you behind the wheel of powerful, well-tuned vehicles. It's also co-op, so you can play with up to three other friends, which could make for a great experience. Not to mention if you have some extra cool gear like a wheel, pedals, and shifter.

While we're on the off-roading subject, we can't ignore Dirt Rally 2.0, a phenomenal rally racer. It's just 5 US dollars, and you get one of the best in the business. But buyer beware, Dirt Rally 2.0 is extremely challenging at first. In fact, it's so hard that I like to call it "Soulslike" for its high difficulty curb.

Similar, but not too similar, is the recently released EA Sports WRC $30. If you want something easier and beginner-friendly, there's always Dirt 5 at almost $17. Kind of steep for a game that old, but luckily, it's on EA Play, which is just 5 bucks a month.

For those of you in search of a more childhood-like experience where you can just put your feet up at the end of the day, there are three titles you can chill with. Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 is currently $35, and it will undoubtedly trigger your "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" memories. Next, I nominate LEGO 2K Drive, a game I wish I had growing up, which is now 20 bucks.

Lastly, the closest thing to Mario Kart you're going to get on a non-Nintendo platform is the Free-to-Play Disney Speedstorm. It can be a bit grindy after you put a couple of hours in, but it's all part of the "game," so to speak. Just play in short bursts and don't give into the microtransactions, no matter how appealing they might look.

While there are tons of other discounts, I couldn't miss a special shoutout to Asseto Corsa at $4, Assetto Corsa Competizione at $12, Riders Republic ($10), Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 ($13), Hot Wheels Unleashed at $6, Ride 5 ($36), and Ride 4 at $60. Remember, the Steam Winter Sale lasts until January 4, so there's plenty of time to pick and choose from.
