Usually, when you build a small car with a coupe or roadster body, the final product ends up being some sort of female-destined automotive creation. This is also true for the Daihatsu Copen, but the automotive producer is willing to change this.
Daihatsu is using the Tokyo Motor Show to give us the Ultimate Edition of the Copen, but, more importantly, the D-X Concept, a vehicle that should prefigure the replacement for the Copen.

Yes, we’re still in the Kei Car area, but the styling manages to bring an interesting approach that clearly appeals to both male and female buyers. Unfortunately, filing the vehicle under this tag also means that we only get a two-cylinder unit, albeit with a turbocharger that allows it to deliver 60 hp to the front axle.

The vehicle, which comes with a retractable hard top, could reach production form as early as late 2012.
